Anger Management

Anger is an emotional state that varies from mild irritation to being enraged. Anger is a normal healthy emotion. But when out of control, it can become destructive to your personal relationships at home and at work, damage your health (particularly heart disease) and diminish the general quality of your life.

The goal of anger management is to diminish both the emotional feelings and the physiological arousal that results from anger.

Dr. Nadler will help you to explore your anger management issues and teach you to accept people as fallible humans, to increase your level of frustration tolerance, relax your mind and body and to cope with anger provoking situations. Learning to recognize angry feelings when they begin increases the chance of
gaining control. Imagine expressing yourself calmly and clearly in a situation that previously led to anger!

A client with road rage thanked Dr. Nadler for his help when he refrained from violence as a car cut him off.
The driver came out and flailed his fist in front of the window of the client’s truck. The client read Dr.
Nadler’s note on an index card he had taped to the dashboard and used a relaxation technique until the
irate driver went back into his car and drove off.
